Final Week of Class

In this class, I discovered so much! The final paper was a great opportunity to bring everything together and reflect on the work we’ve done with our group websites, especially how they connect to our chosen nonprofit, Friends of Nature. Researching this organization was eye-opening as it showed me how their efforts and organization as a whole can spark real change, from raising public awareness to influencing policy. Their work and how it related to our group’s websites allowed me to learn more about my classmates and taught me more about how my website could have more meaning and connections than just what I intended.

I picked up a new skill during this class which is using Audacity for audio editing. Before this, I only ever used iMovie, which is pretty basic when it comes to audio. Learning Audacity felt like leveling up. I could clean up recordings, balance sound levels, and create smooth transitions for my content. It was a bit of a learning curve, but once I got the hang of it, I realized how much it opens up creative possibilities. It’s a skill I’ll definitely use again.

Creating my website for this project turned out to be way more useful than I expected. Not just for the class but for life in general. It was an experience that pushed me to take an idea and bring it to life in a way that felt purposeful and impactful. I learned how to organize information, design layouts, and make the site easy to navigate, which are skills that go beyond just building websites. What I enjoyed most about this experience was realizing how powerful a website can be in sharing ideas and connecting with people. It felt amazing to create something from scratch that had a real purpose and could leave an impact. Knowing I now have the skills to build something like this is exciting.

Overall, I had a really great time trying new things in this class, and all the new skills I learned definitely prepared me for future endeavors.
